Many buildings’ HVAC systems are still controlled using Satchwell BAS 2800, Sigma or Staefa AS1000 building management controls. These are now obsolete and Building Managers that wish to change to other BMS’s are faced with a considerable expense.
Satrofit offers an alternative solution. Satrofit input and output cards can be installed in hours and fit straight into the existing Satchwell or Staefa control panels.
As Satrofit cards can talk to the master controller of any new building management system, you get the benefit of an alternative BMS, without the disruption and cost of a complete re-fit. We can also convert large parts of the Satchwell BAS 2800 and Sigma engineering software into the Niagara framework, dramatically reducing the software engineering costs of an upgrade
A cost effective alternative:
For organisations that wish to adopt a new BeMS but do not have the capital or resource to replace their Satchwell BAS 2800, Satchwell Sigma or Staefa AS1000 system, Hurtwood manufactures a replacement series of input and output cards. These fit straight into existing cabinets and racks, allowing a rapid changeover to a new BMS.
The Satrofit cards offer the ability to upgrade from an old Satchwell BAS 2800, Satchwell Sigma or Staefa AS1000 system to any BMS chosen - minimising down-time and most importantly, cost.
Hurtwood can also convert large parts of the BAS 2800 or Sigma engineering software into the Niagara framework, dramatically reducing the software engineering costs of an upgrade.
Technical Details:
Satrofit SRC-UNC-16 BMS input and output cards plug directly into UNC 696 or 796 racks and read all the pre-existing Satchwell sensors. The output cards can drive the Satchwell 8 way latching relay cards.
Features:
- The input cards have selectable digital/current/voltage inputs with status LEDs
- Thermistors can be measured in two ranges - giving a high level of accuracy from 300 Ohms to 100K Ohms
- The input cards have 10 bit A/D converters and are individually calibrated to 0.25% accuracy
- The flexible analogue outputs have up to 30mA of current and 4 off 0-20mA current regulated outputs
- The cards can be directly connected with the laptop based Satrofit tool allowing the sensors and actuators to be set-up and serviced by technicians who don't have access to the master controller, for example: during pre-commissioning
Satrofit cards make expanding the points of existing Satchwell or Staefa systems, or changing over to a new BMS a very straightforward process.
The following features of Satrofit cards make it simple and easy for any Building Controls Engineer to set up, configure, service or repair your BMS:
Features:
- A PC-based commissioning tool, the Satrofit Tool, is free to download and use. A direct USB connection is made to a local port on the card, allowing the engineer to ensure the connections to input and output field devices are correct.
- No additional special programming tools are required for installation
- DIP switches are used to set communications speeds and card addresses, allowing replacements to be carried out by low skilled technicians.
- LEDs on each card give the status of inputs and outputs, including faulty connections, allowing the rapid diagnosis of wiring faults
- Re-using all the existing cabling, panels, sensors and actuators saves time and reduces cost
